I was late for school again and rushing on Eitelstrasse towards the metro. On my way I met someone who was sweeping the street. Someone I had never seen in my entire life, a stranger.
So I found it completely unproperly for a stranger to say “Good morning!” to me. But he did. This has been the first experience, which later on helped me understand, that Berlin is a place where strangers wish themselves “good days” and start talking to each other on the bus. Now I got used to it and I have to say, it’s quite fun.
